Boyce College will add women’s basketball to its athletics program, Dustin Bruce, Dean of Boyce College, announced. This addition gives female student-athletes a new avenue to compete at a high level while pursuing a Christian education.
“I am pleased to announce the addition of women’s basketball to the Boyce College athletics program,” Bruce said. “This new offering will join our existing women’s volleyball and cross-country teams to provide another avenue for young ladies who feel called to pursue collegiate athletics in a Christian context. I am eagerly looking forward to the tip-off of a great inaugural season for the Lady Bulldogs.”
Michael McCarty, Director of Athletics and Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball Team, believes the addition of a women’s basketball team will further Boyce’s commitment to develop Christ-centered female athletes for service in the workforce and local church.
“Women’s Basketball at Boyce College will provide us the opportunity to advance both our athletic and educational mission,” McCarty said. “We believe women’s basketball will be a powerful platform for developing young women who are committed to Christ, excellence, and service. As an NCCAA institution, we have the unique opportunity to compete at a high level while maintaining our focus on the development of the whole student-athlete—spiritually, academically, and athletically.”
McCarty believes the women’s basketball program will benefit the whole campus community.
“Women’s basketball will become a tremendous addition to the Boyce College community and provide an opportunity for student-athletes to use their gifts and abilities to glorify God, serve others, and compete with excellence,” McCarty said. “We are excited to start the program in Fall 2027.”
Boyce will begin a search for the first head coach of the program, who will play a critical role in recruiting the inaugural team and laying the foundation for the program’s launch in Fall 2027. Details on the coaching search can be found here.
