A Truthful Approach to College Pricing

College costs are a significant part of the search process, and families deserve clarity about what they will actually pay.

At Boyce College, truth comes first, and that includes the way we talk about tuition, scholarships, and total cost. That commitment is why Boyce approaches pricing differently than most colleges. Many schools advertise large scholarships, but those awards often begin with a high published price that few families ever pay, which can make it harder to compare schools and harder to plan.

Boyce keeps tuition low from the start because we aim to charge close to the actual cost of educating a student. From there, we help families cover that cost through straightforward financial aid and scholarships.

How college pricing often works

Most schools use a tuition discount model. A school publishes a high sticker price, then reduces it for most students through institutional grants or “scholarships,” which means two families can end up paying very different prices for the same education. Over time, the focus shifts away from final cost and toward the size of the discount, even though the only number that truly matters is what your family will pay each year.

There is another layer that can make the picture less clear. Some net price estimates treat student loans as part of the “price” a family is expected to pay, which can make an offer look more affordable than it really is. Loans can be a responsible tool in some situations, but they are still debt that must be repaid, so it helps to separate true scholarship support from borrowed money when you compare schools.

The questions worth asking are simple. What will our family actually pay each year, and how much debt will our student carry after graduation?

How Boyce prices differently

We keep the price honest, the process clear, and the cost within reach by starting with low published tuition that reflects real costs, not marketing tactics. Tuition supports the actual work of educating and supporting students, including instruction, academic support, student life, and campus resources, and we work hard to control costs so families are not asked to subsidize unnecessary spending.

When we offer merit and need-based aid, we want it to function as real help. Scholarships are funded through institutional support and the generosity of donors who want to invest in students, rather than by publishing a high price and then using institutional discounts so families pay very different amounts for the same education. The result is a straightforward financial picture, with fewer surprises and clearer planning for families who are trying to make a wise decision.

Stewardship that matches our mission

Boyce College exists to prepare students for maximum faithfulness in every part of life, and that shapes how we teach and how we charge. We want you focused on what you are coming here to receive, a truth-driven, Christ-centered education and a community that prepares you for what comes next.

A simple way to compare colleges

Ask these three questions at every school.

  • What is the published tuition?
  • What is the average price families actually pay?
  • How is institutional aid funded?

Independent by Conviction

Boyce College does not participate in federal or state student aid programs. That choice helps us protect our mission and keep outside influence out of our classrooms and campus life. Instead, we rely on scholarships, Cooperative Program support, and donor generosity to help students afford a Boyce education.

Take Your Next Step Towards Maximum Faithfulness.
