Zack Stanton is a composer, conductor, and worship leader from Conway, Arkansas. He is Associate Professor of Music and Worship at Boyce College, where he teaches core music classes, lessons, and mentors worship leaders.
Dr. Stanton received his Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in composition from the University of Texas at Austin. He taught composition and music theory at the University of Iowa and at Belmont University. From 2019 until 2026 he served as the Worship Director at Grace Community Church in North Liberty, Iowa.
As a composer, he has written for orchestra, wind ensemble, choir, and chamber ensembles. Recognition for his work includes first prize in the International Horn Society Composition Contest (Trio for Horn, Viola, and Harp) and the Sanibel-Captiva Trust Prize in Choral Composition (Before You Kissed Me). His Concerto for Piano and Wind Ensemble received Honorable Mention in the ASCAP/CBDNA Frederick Fennell Competition. In 2012, the Austin Symphony Orchestra premiered the orchestral version of his work Triple Venti Latté under Music Director Peter Bay.
As a performer, Dr. Stanton served as a pianist and conductor for the University of Texas New Music Ensemble, and as an assistant conductor with the Center for New Music at the University of Iowa. He has also played banjo with the University of Iowa Symphony Orchestra, the University of Iowa Center for New Music, and the Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra.
He and his wife, Molly, have five wonderful kids. In addition to his passion for all things music, he loves books, coffee, golf, pick-up basketball, and spending time with friends and family.
