Leverett’s academic background is rather diverse. Known as a generalist, Leverett has acquired degrees focusing on speech communication, interpersonal and organizational communication, and communication studies (with a special emphasis on religious organizational public relations). He has also studied several topics in business, including courses in marketing, corporate communication and organizational behavior. In addition to his course work, Leverett has completed several primary steps towards obtaining a certification in professional mediation.
Leverett’s academic experiences are further supported with over fifteen years of professional experience in customer relations, sales, production and ministry. He attributes a bulk of his professional experience to his time spent working at US Airways, where he strengthened his skill sets in customer relations, small group communication, team-building, conflict analysis and resolution, leadership, and sales. Additionally, his time spent in ministry during his high school, college and post-graduate days provide several stories, with practical insight, for students seeking ways to better understand communication theory and praxis.
In addition to Christ’s love, Leverett considers his family his greatest blessing in life. Leverett is married to Heather and they have four young boys: Quaid, Denver, Brayden and Davis.
