Admissions Requirements and Forms

Below are the required forms from all applicants. Electronic versions of the recommendation form and spiritual autobiography are built-in to our application for admission.

1) Pastor/Church Recommendation Form

All applicants must receive official endorsement from the local church where they are a member. Family members may not complete this form.

This endorsement is provided through the online recommendation form located in the application. After you enter your recommender’s information, they will be automatically e-mailed a link to an electronic copy of the recommendation form.

Family members may not complete a recommendation form. If, for some reason, recommendations do not reflect the proper amount of diversity, the Admissions Office may request additional recommendations.

What if I am the pastor of my church?
We still request a church/pastor recommendation, but it can come from another leader in the church. (Such as another pastor, elder, or deacon.)

What if I am related to the pastor of my church?
We would ask you then request a recommendation from a non-family member who is in some sort of leadership capacity at your church.

2) Spiritual Autobiography

When filling out the online application you’ll find a space to type your Spiritual Autobiography. The Spiritual Autobiography is a typed essay — no longer than 500 words — documenting your conversion, concisely articulating the gospel and telling your reasons for choosing Boyce College.

3) Official Transcripts

Transcription from all educational institutions is required. Official High School transcripts or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) test scores are necessary unless the applicant has more than 24 college hours of post-high school college credit (dual enrollment courses do not count towards these 24 hours). It is best for applicants to request that transcripts be sent directly from their school to the Southern Seminary Admissions Office. In no case will the seminary consider as official a transcript marked “Issued to Student.” For transfer students, we also require other college and/or university transcripts

4) Application Fee

A $40 non-refundable application fee is due to the admissions office before the student’s application packet can be processed.

5) ACT/SAT/CLT Scores

All applicants (including home-schooled students) are required to submit scores from either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), American College Test (ACT), or the Classic Learning Test (CLT). The SAT code for Boyce College is 3858 and the ACT code is 5522. Applicants who are 24 or older or have passed 15 hours (post high-school) from (a) a regionally accredited college or (b) a college with AABC accreditation, and have maintained at least a C average, are not required to submit these standardized test scores. Test scores can be waived for applicants 24 years or older.

*ACT, SAT, or CLT scores are not used as a basis of admission to Boyce College but help us evaluate a student’s ability to successfully complete college level coursework.

5) Housing Application

All applicants (including internet and extension center applicants) are required to affirm or deny their need for campus housing. Campus housing constraints require us to know of housing needs at the earliest possible date. Upon admission, you will be provided with a link to the housing application.

6) Documents of Citizenship

Documentation of immigration classification for students who are not citizens of the United States.

*Students with below a 2.5 cumulative GPA or 20 on the ACT (or its equivalent on SAT or CLT) may be admitted on probation to Boyce College. This acceptance status requires students to complete the following during their first semester: enroll in no more than 13 hours, meet with their Academic Adviser at least three times, and enroll in Foundations for Academic Success.
