Alisha Biler

Alisha Biler is originally from Ohio and has an educational background in Linguistics. Prior to coming to Boyce, Biler taught English to international students in South Carolina for nearly ten years. She has trained English teachers in academic contexts as well as ministry contexts, helping churches establish community English programs. Biler also has international teaching and teacher-training experience in Turkey, North Africa, and Europe.
Biler’s teaching and research interests focus on the unique nature of language and helping writers use language effectively for clearer communication. Her work has been published in Global Perspectives on Language Assessment and presented at American Association of Applied Linguistics, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and Second Language Research Forum conferences.
