Alisha Biler

Alisha Biler is originally from Ohio and has an educational background in Linguistics and Teaching English as a Second Language. She has trained foreign language instructors in academic contexts as well as ministry contexts, helping churches establish community ESL programs. Biler also has international teaching and teacher-training experience in Turkey, North Africa, and Europe.

Biler’s teaching and research interests focus on the unique nature of language and how it functions in writing, translation, and language acquisition. Her work has been published in Global Perspectives on Language Assessment and presented at American Association of Applied Linguistics, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and Second Language Research Forum conferences. She has served as president of the Christian English Language Educator Association and has several leadership roles in TESOL and linguistic professional organizations.
