Accreditation

The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates or diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling (404) 679-4500, or by using information available on SACSCOC’s website (www.sacscoc.org).

The seminary is also accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (10 Summit Park Drive, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15275-1103; telephone number (412) 788-6505) and is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music (11250 Roger Bacon Drive, Suite 21, Reston, Virginia 22090; telephone number (703) 437-0700).

The Bachelor of Science in Teacher Education (P5) has been granted accreditation from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the Higher Education Accreditation Program (HEAP). CAEP is the only recognized national accreditor for educator preparation. HEAP is offered to accredited ACSI member Christian colleges. These accreditations indicate that the Boyce College Teacher Education program is designed to equip the teacher candidates for the challenges of the classroom and be eligible to obtain educator certification.
