Part A: Basic Responsibilities of a Cooperating Teacher Supervisor

Kentucky regulation 16 KAR 5:040 requires cooperating teachers and university supervisors to complete a training on their basic responsibilities prior to supervising a student teacher. Part A of this training is provided by the Kentucky Department of Education’s Office of Educator Licensure and Effectiveness (OELE) through an online assessment. Each cooperating teacher and university supervisor is required to pass all progress checks and the assessment before supervising a student teacher. Cooperating teachers and university supervisors are encouraged to print the 16 KAR 5:040 text and explanations document to review prior to taking the assessment.

As of July 1, 2019, Cooperating Teacher Part A training will be offered through iDrive Digital and will no longer be available on Edmodo. If you already have passed the Part A training in Edmodo, you do not need to retake the assessment in iDrive Digital.

Please refer to the directions below to create an iDrive Digital account and access the P-12 Co-Teaching Training.
