Teacher Education Resources

Welcome to the Teacher Education Resource page. This page is meant to serve TEP students by providing the resources required for the education courses. The resources are displayed below in a way that mirrors the progressive advancement through the program. Each item below is a required assignment for TEP students and should be completed by the specified times throughout the program.


Students will meet with their TEP Advisor at least once a semester for Checkpoint progression and academic advising.


Checkpoint 1: Admission to the TEP

The following items are required before students are admitted to the Teacher Education Program. It is the student’s responsibility to submit these items prior to their formal interview which takes place in the second semester.


Boyce College Transcript:
The following coursework with a minimum grade of “C”.

  • EN 101 English Composition I (“C”min.)
  • ED 200/201/205 Intro to Teacher Education (“C”min. )
  • GPA of 2.75 or higher


Required Documents:


Letters of Recommendation:


Students will apply for admission to the Teacher Education Program after completing ED 200/201/205.


Checkpoint 2: Assessment for Continuation in the TEP

Boyce College Transcript:

  • GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Completion of 30 credit hours
  • All coursework-(“C” min.)


Academic Achievement: Praxis I Test Scores

  • Reading 5712 (156)
  • Writing 5722 (162)
  • Math 5732 (150)

Students must complete the Praxis I exam prior to their student teaching.

Student Teaching Application

Boyce College Transcript:

  • GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • GPA last 30 credit hours (3.0 min)
  • Completion of 116 credit hours
  • All coursework: minimum grade of “C”

  • TWS Lesson Plan (2.5 min)
  • Early Field Experience Evaluation Form
  • Service Evaluation Form
  • TWS Unit Score (2.0 min)


Student Teaching Checklist:

  • 200 Field Experience Hours
  • 50 Service Project Hours
  • 24 Professional Development Hours
  • Medical Examination Form
  • Background Check Request
  • CEAI Insurance and Active Membership
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation from (1) General Education Professor, (2) Education Professor, and (3) Field Experience Teacher.
